KOTA PERMAI GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB has been voted the Best Course in Malaysia by the Asian Golf Monthly 2009. The Asian Golf Monthly Awards Gala Dinner was held at the Palace of Golden Horses on October 28; in conjunction with Asia Pacific Golf Summit at Putrajaya Interntaional Convention Centre, Putrajaya from October 26th till 28th, 2009.
Kota Permai climbed to the top spot and the second place went to Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club and third placing to Saujana Golf & Country Club.
The five leading contenders who were vying for the Best Course Category in Malaysia are Kota Permai Golf & Country Club, Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (West Course), Saujana Golf & Country Club (Palm Course), Tanjong Puteri Golf Resort (Plantation Course) and The Mines Resort & Golf Club.
The awards gala dinner was attended by three great golfing legends; Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Peter Thomson.
Spencer Robinson, the Managing Editor of Asian Golf Monthly, said: “The Malaysian category was one of the closest fought among any of the 14 country-by-country awards. It’s a sign of the quality of the leading clubs in the country that there was strong support for so many courses. Kota Permai is a worthy winner this year.”
